What this website collects
This notice covers pickpolice.com and its launch list. Camera analysis and detection history in the Mac app are described separately below.
Operator details are still being finalized
Pick Police is the product name. The legal name and address of the website operator have not yet been added. Sales are closed while the seller and customer terms are being finalized. For privacy questions or to request removal from the launch list, contact [email protected].
Launch email choices
The legacy/general launch-list signup asks for your email and one required consent to receive a single launch email. Its optional habit and computer-platform questions help us understand broad interest; leaving them blank is fine. People who selected Windows on that form are also included in the Windows-interest list because they provided the one-email consent and selected that platform.
The Windows signup on the current homepage asks only for your email. Selecting “Notify me for Windows” requests one Windows preview/availability email from Pick Police, as explained beside the button. We record the time of that request. It does not subscribe you to a newsletter or ask for a habit. The current target for a Windows preview is 9 November 2026, but that date is tentative and not a release promise.
Both lists are stored in Cloudflare D1. No email service is connected, so messages are not sent automatically; any launch email will be sent manually to the relevant consented list. Automatic expiry or retention cleanup is not configured. Email us at the address above to request deletion; requests are handled manually. We do not sell launch-list information or use it to track app activity.
An optional abuse-prevention control may be enabled by the operator. When enabled, the website uses Cloudflare's CF-Connecting-IP request header in memory to create a daily keyed HMAC digest; the raw address is not stored by this application. The digest changes each UTC day, is stored with an attempt count in D1, and is removed after 24 hours when a later signup request triggers cleanup. The limiter allows at most five attempts per address per UTC day and stops accepting requests if its configured key or trusted address is unavailable. When the control is off, it stores no limiter digest.
Website analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate page views, referral sources, device/browser categories, and website performance. The analytics beacon is enabled for visitors worldwide, including the EU/EEA. Cloudflare describes Web Analytics as cookie-free and says it does not collect or use visitors' personal data. This measures website traffic only: it does not report camera frames, detections, habit history, app launches, or purchases, and we do not join analytics records to launch-list emails.
Cloudflare hosts the website and stores the launch-list database. Cloudflare may process technical request information to deliver and protect the site. Its analytics FAQ explains the metrics and limitations: Web Analytics overview and FAQ.
Mac app privacy
The Mac app analyzes camera input on your Mac while monitoring is enabled. Frames are not uploaded or saved by default. Detection history and statistics stay on your Mac. If you turn on optional diagnostics, selected sample frames may be saved locally on your Mac. The app does not require an account.
Your choices
- Do not submit either signup if you do not want its single launch email.
- For legacy/general signup records, the optional habit and platform questions may be left blank.
- Use the Windows signup only if you want one email about the Windows preview.
- Email [email protected] to request access to or removal of your launch-list entry.
- Use browser privacy controls that block analytics scripts; this may prevent aggregate page metrics from being recorded.
Before sales open, this page still needs the operator's legal identity and address, a final retention schedule, and confirmation of production analytics settings.
