Questions for the officer
Does my video leave my computer?
Camera analysis runs on your Mac. Frames are not uploaded and are not saved by default. If you enable optional diagnostics, sample frames can be saved locally on your Mac.
Will it drain my battery?
It's tuned to be light. It runs on Apple's on-device frameworks and automatically checks less often when you're on battery or Low Power Mode.
Which camera does it need?
Use a compatible built-in or external webcam. You can choose your camera in settings and turn monitoring on or off from the menu bar.
Is there a Windows version?
Windows is in development. We're targeting an early preview around 9 November 2026, subject to testing. Leave your email in the Windows section and we'll send one message when it's ready. No Windows purchase is available yet.
What does it cost?
Pick Police is a one-time purchase with no recurring subscription. See the purchase section for current pricing and availability.
What Mac do I need?
Pick Police requires macOS 14 or later and supports both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
Is my detection history uploaded?
No. Your detection history and statistics are stored locally on your Mac.
Is this a medical treatment?
No. Pick Police is an awareness tool that helps you notice a habit in the moment. For compulsive picking or pulling, it works best alongside support from a professional.
Does Pick Police identify a specific habit?
No. It detects hand-to-face proximity and does not know why your hand moved. It is not a dedicated or clinically validated detector for nail biting, skin picking, hair pulling, or any diagnosis.
